UK diagnostic criteria for atopic dermatitis4
| Presence of an itchy skin condition over the past 12 months |
| Plus three or more of the following: |
| • Onset below the age of 2 years |
| • History of flexural involvement (around the eyes, around the neck, front of elbows, behind the knees, front of ankles) |
| • Generally dry skin |
| • Personal or (in children under four years) family history of atopic disease |
| • Visible flexural dermatitis (around the eyes, around the neck, front of elbows, behind the knees, front of ankles) |
